Recently I promised NDCFC that I would post a blog about my deceased son Terrell Emmanuel Hinton whose birthday was June 8th. The interesting thing was that each time I began to blog, the pain seemed to feel more intense almost bringing me back to the very moment of his death. It was at this point that I realized that “I need more time to heal”.
It is amazing how many of us just continue without ever stopping to realize that we are not super humans. We lead great families, major corporations, thriving congregations and major networks/relationships and live (what people believe are) wonderful lives and at the end of the day many of us just need more time for God to complete the work in us.
The idea of needing more time is not to build excuses to remain as we are, but rather to build our confidence, secure the proper tools and allow Jesus to heal us so that we can be readily available to share and assist others with being healed. It can be challenging to assist others while you are working through things as well.
Today, don’t be ashamed to admit you need more time as long as you are working to be healed within the time given! Get that healing! It is going to help many others once you are healed. Remember Jesus at the Center provides clear direction for our healing in every area of our lives.
