This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. It is of the Lord’s mercy that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is his faithfulness. Lamentations 3:21-23
It is awesome to see that God has allowed the doors of the New Day Christian Fellowship Church of North Carolina to remain open for 7 years. I remember the grand opening celebration like it was yesterday. The singing, shouting, well wishes and powerful word shared by Bishop Julius A. Sloane of New Day Christian Fellowship Church in New York. The room was packed to capacity with the saints as they wished us well here in the state of North Carolina.
I reflect on that day until now and I am still amazed that God selected a city boy like me to lead his people into a New Day. Over the years I have experienced so much. We have had our challenges (yes I admit it) and we have had some great success also. I am not ashamed of our challenges but rather thankful for every lesson learned. While I could share so many lessons that we learned, I would rather highlight some of our most memorable moments. We have had so many locations lol. Rose Manor, M&F, Noble Street, Brogden Road, Wilsons Mills and presently in Garner @ Heather Hills Country Club. We experienced significant growth at each location which demanded movement. We have hosted conferences, had some of the most noted preachers, the wildest New Years Eve celebrations, fed hundreds of people weekly and the most pleasurable annual family fun days. Our church was even recognized for our community involvement in 2009. I am sure that you have memories for days also.
There was a time when we had a yearly service to celebrate our anniversary until about two years ago when I realized that every weekend and mid-week service is a anniversary celebration for our church. We celebrate just because. We party every weekend at New Day. Just to hear the weekly buzz of members and visitors alike saying how much they love their New Day, to me that is celebration. Folks testify to one another (at no special time of service) about the faithfulness of God to them through various situations.
When I look around and witness all of the many miracles that have taken place at New Day; salvation testimonies, restoration testimonies, baptisms, marriages healed, physical healing, family relationships restored, deliverance from addictions of all kinds, and graduations on all grade levels it blows me away. Just to receive a phone call or a text message that says “I am cancer free”, thats anniversary to me. It says that we are flowing in the call of Jesus on our lives and for our church.
We have worked hard over the years to identify our “it” and have found it.
We exist to bring people to a place where we all can receive New Hope, New Power, New Strength and a New Day. It is the heartbeat of our church. You can feel it every time you walk into the building and when we are apart. When I walk in, I feel the presence of Jesus. The bible does say, In thy presence is the fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. (Psalm 16:11).
I am glad to serve you as Lead Pastor. My heart beats with gratitude that God would allow me to usher you into a New Day.
Happy Anniversary New Day Christian Fellowship Church of North Carolina!
You guys rock! I Love you all! Let the good times roll on!
