It’s a brand new week and we are continuing this great series on Thanksgiving! This week of blogs will highlight the necessity to continually give God thanks through 5 scriptures – one for each day Monday through Friday. I challenge you to keep a journal for this week. Meditate on these scriptures and put them into practice. Document your reflections and experiences that happen each day. At the end of the week you will have your own personal record of the power of Thanksgiving.
Day 1: Psalm 107:1 O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.
What better reason do we need as believers to give thanks. God LOVES US so much that His mercy is on-going and never ending. When you give thanks to the Lord, you remind yourself of just how good He has been to you. We do not hesitate to show politeness to people when they do something kind for us. We even extend this common courtesy to strangers on a daily basis, at the store, to the bank teller; surely we don’t need to be reminded to say thank you to the one who gives us life. I encourage you to set aside a special time today to reflect over your life and thank the Lord for His goodness, love and mercy. Your heart will be overwhelmed with gratitude when you acknowledge the mercies of God.
