Got Faith – Part 1

Well it’s time to start another week, and I’m extremely grateful that I have consistent faithful followers such as yourself who read my blogs daily.
Two weeks ago, I discussed fasting, last week we over-veiwed prayer, and this week I want to delve into Faith.
Yes Faith – the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. That energy that, though it don’t take a lot of it to move mountains, many people still don’t use it.
We live in a world that is extremely temporal – show it to me or I won’t believe it. As a matter of fact, our culture lives to show it – who has the biggest car, who has the biggest house, who has the best job – we like to show it or rather as they use to say we like to show off. I was asked by a foreigner what was the dividing line of the American Culture and I told them it use to be race, but now it is the Have and Have nots. We define ourselves by what we have or can portray that we have. People go in all types of debt to get “that house” or “that car” so that they can feel like they are living “that life” and be revered as “that family” by “those people” that we want to impress so bad!
So in the midst of all of this, consumption and purchasing due to selfish ambitions we are thrown a curve ball like this:

Hebrews 11:6

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Huh? Faith? Yes. FAITH. It’s at this point that we can divide the line between the real Christian and the not-so-real Christian. To have Faith means, I have to disconnect myself from the rat race of status of our culture where I can see, feel, touch, and join a culture where I’m at my best when I can’t see, feel, and touch. See in our culture, you sow into yourself, work hard for your future and enjoy the reward of doing so, in the Kingdom culture you sow into others, you work hard at obeying the Will of God and in doing so you will enjoy great reward.
This week I’m going to challenge you strong to start putting your focus back on the unseen again. You started there, but somehow have lost sight of the sightless and now focused on what you can see. According to the above scripture, YOU CAN’T PLEASE GOD THAT WAY!!!!
