Well we made it to Friday – Praise God!! Today is the last installment in our 5 part series on bringing our lives in order. The last thing I want to bring to your attention is the importance of changing your physical surroundings. Did you know that sometimes to disconnect from your past, consciousness, or way of living you have to move. God is always trying to get the best out of us, but sometimes our physical surroundings propegate the very thing God needs to remove in order for us to grow.
I know of a lot of instances where people visit their childhood neighborhoods and instantly face the demons they fought and whooped.
Let’s study the story of Lot, God was going to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah, but he wanted preserve Lot so he commanded him to leave the city and not look back. What Sodom and Gomorrah do you have in your life presently that God is asking you to leave immediately.
Sometimes you may feel pressed to re-arrange the furniture in your home or change the route that you take to and from work everyday. Even those subtle changes can be God’s way of trying to get something to you, and by obeying God in that simple act it births something new in your soul.
This is the season to start putting things in divine order, those things that you know God has been asking you to do for years that you’ve skillfully overlooked. It will mean a comprehensive change of your thinking, words, the people around you and even your surroundings! Whatever it is you should have the mindset of Paul in Philippians 3:8
