Better is Coming – Part 2

Better days are coming
There comes a time where you say to yourself enough is enough. I have had enough with this. It’s in that place of weakness where you really are your strongest. A lot of times it’s our desperation that unlocks doors, tears down walls, and makes ways. It’s at a place of desperation where you’re more apt to make right now decisions without hesitation or procrastination. The reality is that better is going to be birthed from your desperation- that is once you get tired of the same ole same ole.
Let’s read a passage of scripture that tells a story of a woman who was so desperate she propagated change in her life.
Matthew 15: 21-28
21 Then Jesus went thence, and departed into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon. 22 And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil. 23 But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us. 24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. 25 Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me. 26 But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs. 27 And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table. 28 Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.
As we see in this passage of scripture this woman from Canaan was desperate, to the point that she wouldn’t take no for an answer – EVEN after Jesus told her straight –no, this bread isn’t for you. Due the desperation she not only didn’t give up but she got creative in her approach.
Let’s take all this in so we can fully understand the gravity of this story. This lady was NOT on Jesus’ agenda – in this passage he had no intentions on granting her request for her vexed daughter, but her desperation aka her Faith got his attention.
So this week has been named “Better Week” but are you desperate enough for it? Do you want it so bad that you add yourself to God’s agenda? If you want better then don’t sit back as if you are waiting to be served at a 5 star restaurant, but be so intentional that you propagate better in your life!!!
