Time of the Tithe Pt II: “This is How We Do It”

Just as it’s important to know how to speak or how to write, it’s important to know how to give.  Giving can be difficult to master when there’s uncertainty of how it should be done…”Well then, how should I give?” You know what- that is a great question! Let’s look at a few fundamentals:

Willfully & Generously: (II Cor. 9:6-7You determine how much you receive not just by how much you give, but, also, by where your heart is.  God loves a cheerful giver.  Never feel as though it’s an obligation but rather a choice.  Be passionate, be willing, & give with your heart.

Modestly: (Matthew 6:1-4God’s perception of you should be more important than anyone else’s.  You do not need to brag to everyone and your mama about what you give & how much you give.  Give modestly & unknowingly.  All of the bells & whistles are unnecessary. God is not a fan of boasting. (James 4:16)

At Your Capacity: (Deut. 16:17)Sometimes, we just don’t have it. Majority of us, if not all of us, at some point have fallen on hard times, and what you normally give may not be possible.  The Lord knows your heart & sees that you’re trying.  Give what you can.

Earnest Expectation: (Luke 6:38You may not see it right now, but the return is coming!  In the meantime thank him in advance, continue to praise him, & keep the faith!  Your time will come. Just continue to do your part.

So- for anyone out there who wants to give but doesn’t know how I hope this is helpful as you continue to develop into the great person that you are meant to be.  Never feel compelled, & never feel pressured. Start small, if need be, to boost your confidence, & then go from there.

 This isn’t a rat race; it’s a faith pace.
