Sincerity is the BEST approach

A lot of times I like to blog about more practical life application, but today I’m going to do something different and discuss with you about your relationship with God.

A lot of times our concept of God is deeply rooted in our ethnic and cultural background, how we were raised or what denomination you were a part of as a child. With that being a reality, there are a lot of different concepts of God. I can go to the same church with someone, be devoted to the same God, both of us can be as equally faithful to our spiritual convictions and still see God TOTALLY different. As a leader, that means I have to carefully display God in a light that all people can understand him. With that being said, I want to talk to you about the best way to approach God.

Psalms 51:15-17 says this:

15 Open my lips, Lord,
    and my mouth will declare your praise.
16 You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it;
    you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings.
17 My sacrifice, O God, is[b] a broken spirit;
    a broken and contrite heart
    you, God, will not despise.

So check this out! My interpretation of what David is saying is, If you really desired from me big and fancy things, I would easily bring it to you, but instead you want me to have a broken spirit and a contrite heart.

This levels the playing field. Think about it, to properly approach God and get him what He wants you don’t need to be rich, you don’t need to come from a perfect home, you simple just need to humble yourself and come before him sincerely.

Don’t ever think that you are not enough to come before God. His requirements are so simple ANYBODY can do it. Today, I want you to edit your God concept and anything that says God is hard to reach or you have to be anything other than sincere to talk to God and Him move for you — DELETE IT!
