Take time to appreciate yourself. Go on, it’s OK! It’s so easy to get caught up in work, building businesses, future goals, being great parents that we forget to appreciate ourselves. Your goals and dreams are not going to happen without you – that’s how important you are!
Make a list of the things that are amazing about you. We all have someone that we admire, look up to, or aspire to be like. We can easily list the things that we like about them and why they are an inspiration to us. Well, make this list about yourself. Write down all the things that you appreciate about you. All the things! From the way you make spaghetti, to the way you are learning to deal with conflict. Keep adding to this list as you have new experiences, and learn more about yourself. Read it at least once a week and appreciate you.
Compliment yourself. We all love the feeling we experience when we receive a compliment from someone. We suddenly get a rush of confidence that can influence our mood for the rest of the day! Have you thought about how powerful that is? Well, let’s put that power in to our own hands. We spend so much time correcting ourselves, and thinking about the negative aspects of our lives. Start paying compliments to yourself, and set yourself up for a great day.
Use the word of God. As a believer, connect yourself to, and believe what God says about you. What better appreciation can you get than from the one who created you and purposed you to be! The bible is full of God’s declarations about your greatness. Use the word of God to appreciate you the way God does!
