Happy New Year Everyone!

I am so excited about all that God has in-store for you in 2016!

2016 has been declared our year of VICTORY and we are more than ready to have victory in every area of our lives.

One thing that I have been so excited about at VIBE Church (Victory in the Believers Experience) is that we have all successfully developed a healthy church culture which consistently lives out our motto “We are making a difference and we love it!”. The Lord has allowed our motto to become a reality for us in a huge way in a very short time. As we continue to make a difference, the opportunity has come for us to do it on a much larger scale.

It is my awesome privilege to announce that January 3, 2016 the VIBE Church will be merging into World Overcomers Christian Church -Raleigh Campus! We are more than excited about taking our Gifts, Talents and Treasures to make an even greater impact in the Kingdom with other like-minded believers.

My sincerest hopes are that you would join with us as we jump in at our NEW CHURCH HOME, World Overcomers Christian Church- Raleigh Campus. Lets continue making a difference while experiencing VICTORY in 2016!

How Do You Know When It’s Time For Change?

I feel like this needs repeating.

A lot of times we live a hesitant, tentative life, totally unaware of the strength and power that we have to get much more out of our lives. Today I want to challenge you to NOT be one of them.  Don’t wait until you have drained yourself of life completely before paying attention to the signs it’s time for a change.

I want to share with you some tell tell signs, when it’s time for a change.

You’ve forgotten you have choices. Learn to recognize when enough is enough. Sometimes you have to stop hitting your head against the proverbial wall and move on. You don’t have to continue living in the drama just because it’s familiar.

Allow yourself to let go of people and situations, ideas and feelings that aren’t conducive to the nourishment of your growth, or your soul. Let go. Let go now.

You’ve forgotten that you’re deserving of the best. Not everyone will look at you the same. But everyone deserves to have someone in their corner who appreciates them just as they are. Feelings of worth will never flourish in an atmosphere of criticism, where mistakes aren’t tolerated and differences are belittled.

If you’re besieged by people who are discouraging and critical, the spark of inspiration and hope that allows you to be in touch with your deepest potential is not easily recognized.

You’ve lost your passion. You’re lifestyle no longer fits the person you’ve become.  There’s no spring in your step, no joy in your heart. Life is just one ho hum day at a time. You’ve forgotten a time when you jumped out of bed with a smile in your heart.

External motivation doesn’t last long. Material possessions and money all have their place…but if you want to live a passionate life it’s the internal motivation that will get you there. And it’s rarely exhausted until the dream comes true.

Life is too short to continually go around the same mountain over and over. If you find yourself in the above, IT’S TIME TO MAKE A MOVE!

How’s Your Fruit – Long-suffering

So long-suffering ey?

Who wants to talk about that and why in the world is this a fruit of the spirit? Yes those are my question as well 🙂

When we were coming up in Sunday School long-suffering was taught as the ability to suffer long. The webster definition is:

1. (n.) Bearing injuries or provocation for a long time; patient; not easily provoked.
2. (n.) Long patience of offence.

Long-suffering is a fruit because it is what is produced when you are able to uphold your integrity and your belief for an extended period of time without giving in to the temptation to be weak or lower you standards. As a parent or a spouse you need long-suffering. You need longevity or you’ll end up in divorce court. So long-suffering doesn’t necessarily mean that you will have to literally “suffer” long, but it means you have the ability to stand the test of life and not fold under it’s pressure. Doing that over and over consistently produces a long-suffering characteristic in you.

Long – suffering can only be established in tribulation. You do not form such a fruit in the midst of peace. It is forged in difficult painful situations, in the midst of trials and tests.

So this isn’t really a gift or characteristic to shy away from. Instead of focusing on the suffering you should focus on the Faith you need to apply to endure. By keeping the Faith you automatically will grow a long suffering characteristic!

See that wasn’t bad was it? Leave your comments below, what situations are you in where you need a good dose of long-suffering?

How’s Your Fruit?

Hey Family!

I hope your weekend was great. I really enjoyed our conversation on last week. Let’s go ahead and delve into this week’s convo!

I know that we put the burden of responsibility on the pastor and the church to be “THAT” example in the earth to draw people. I today BEG TO DIFFER! The burden of responsibility is YOU. You are a walking, talking, living, breathing, billboard for Jesus. Before a person decides to stop their normal Sunday routine, put on clothes, take the time, energy and money to go to a building for 2 hrs with people they don’t know to worship someone that can’t see or feel, (pause and breathe – this a long sentence so far and we are not done yet) they are going to look at you and see if you’re living a life that’s worth all that.

Yes! Perhaps they haven’t accepted your invite because you live to low of a Christian type of life. #Selah

This week I want to discuss The Fruit of the Spirit and how having them affects our everyday living. Before then though let me say this again – Perhaps they haven’t accepted your invite because you live to low of a Christian type of life.

Looking forward to tomorrow’s conversation.

You WILL have to live what you preach!

I wanted to drop a little note with you guys tonight about living what you preach.

This has been a very trying week for me, with the sudden tragic death of a dear family member. It’s in moments like these where we are forced to pull from the reservoir of knowledge we have about our God and ourselves. Challenging times can cause you to act out of character, doubt yourself and doubt God. It will show you what you are made of, if there is hypocrisy, envy, jealousy, unbelief (you name it) in you, challenging times will bring it to the top. The good thing about it is you get the opportunity to stand in front of the mirror of life and receive a clear unbiased assessment of who you really are. After receiving that assessment then you have a choice to make: change or stay the same.

I want to prepare for what’s to come, no man can escape the test of life. Be prepared to stand in front of your mirror and fully accept what you see then CHANGE!

The Importance of Having Great Relationships

One of the things that makes life so rewarding, is the people we encounter and build relationships with along the way. Relationships are the foundation of life. A lot of times when God can’t get our attention he uses the closes relationships to us to speak to us. Relationships are the real currency of life. Any sort of relationship, from a simple chat with our daily mail carrier – to the first meeting of our future spouse, can give us either a moment or a lifetime of happiness.

I believe whole-heartedly that you can rise to the top (whatever the top is for you) but without relationships, it isn’t really enjoyed. On the flip side though, it’s imperative to chose the right relationships, because who you hang around determines your ground.

Relationships were meant to fuel you for your destiny. If the people you are hanging with run you low, then you don’t need them. When you leave that group of friends or co-workers you should leave full and ready to conquer the world!

It’s time to evaluate who you have in your life, people that fuel you or drain you. If they fuel you cherish them, if they drain you get rid of them.

What are you Pressing for?

Happy Monday!! This is the beginning of a work week for most of us, are you ready???

I wanted to encourage you today to keeping going no matter what.

One of the more memorable scriptures in the bible is Philippians 3:14 – I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

I have a question – what are you pressing for?

Is it a promotion? The New Job? That special young lady?

So many times we get caught up in pressing for material things that we forget the most important press – for the prize of the high calling of God in Jesus Christ.

Matthew 6:33 says – Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness and all of these things will be added unto you.

So according to the above scripture, if you seek the Kingdom of God first aka press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling, you’ll receive everything else.

This week I want you to shift your focus, exert your energy in prayer, fasting, and bible study – then watch God bless you beyond what you could ever imagine!!

Be sure to leave your testimonies in the comment box below!!
