It’s Monday! For many it is the start of the work week. Let’s approach this week believing that something great is about to happen! What are today’s challenges saying to you, Impossible or I’m possible? The way we view a challenge can lead to us taking a limiting or encouraging approach. Science and technology would not have made the huge advances that it has if these ground-breaking individuals believed in impossibility. Impossible is only impossible until someone finds a way to make it possible. So instead of declaring that something is impossible let’s say that it is possible, I just need to find out how.

The initial battle for success takes place in the mind. Our mind set dictates how we think, feel and approach challenges. If you change the way you think about something, you can change the outcome. What seems like an impossible task can probably be achieved with the right resources. If you open your mind to all possibilities you will find a way to make it possible. When you limit your expectations, you immediately limit your results.

You have been called to touch the lives of others and whatever your plans and goals are, this is a huge undertaking. Whenever your task is looking impossible remember that with God, all things are possible! Fill your mind with thoughts of positivity, enthusiasm, and determination. God has not put limits on what you can achieve and neither should you.

Love – What it Really Means

The Love of many is waxing cold. That statement comes from a very popular scripture in the bible. The more that I live the more I find out that the saying is so true. People are more cold now than I have ever seen. There is a lack of compassion for others which introduces a strong strain of judgement and condemnation. We have become a selfish generation that only thinks about themselves and no one else. With all of that being said, I’m not surprised that the bible suggest that if you really want to know who is a Christian or not, inspect the way they love each other.

Isn’t that amazing that the contrast wasn’t based on how many times you go to church in a week or the amount you put in the collection container, but the contrast between followers of Jesus Christ and others is LOVE! Love – out of all of the things! If you are not “showing” love then anything you do is in the Name of Christ is null and void. Now I put the emphasis on “showing” because love is an act. It’s more than speaking to the lonely visitor on Sunday during fellowship time, it’s a consciousness that exudes into your lifestyle. You become love and everything you do surrounds it.

How does your love meter add up? Are you erring on the side of the world or the side of Christ. Don’t let your dedication to the work of God feed you a false sense of eternal security and make you think that you have a sure ticket into heaven. If you are not BEING or BECOMING love, you are not being Christ’s example on the earth and could risk your entrance into Heaven!

What is Your Motivation?

One of the more memorable scriptures in the bible is Philippians 3:14 – I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

I have a question – what are you pressing for?

Is it a promotion? The New Job?

So many times we get caught up in pressing for material things that we forget the most important press – for the prize of the high calling of God in Jesus Christ.

Matthew 6:33 says – Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness and all of these things will be added unto you.

So according to the above scripture, if you seek the Kingdom of God first aka press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling, you’ll receive everything else.

This week I want you to shift your focus, exert your energy in prayer, fasting, and bible study – then watch God bless you beyond what you could ever imagine!!

I don’t know!

There are 3 simple words that can really frustrate many of us. They are “I don’t know”. As a child this answer was unacceptable in our house. If I said “I don’t know” , my mom would say “then find out”.

Recently in a bible study at New Day CFC we discussed 5 possible reasons why we tend to say “I don’t know” and I have decided to share them with you today.

1- Unbelief: it’s not that we don’t know, we just hold off on our knowledge in case it doesn’t work out in our favor. We do not want to risk it. Stop holding out! You could be hindering yourself.

2- Laziness: we are not willing to do the “work” involved to get the knowledge. Sometimes what has been promised and will benefit us is right within our reach but, we are too lazy to lift an arm.
Get to work. You have been relaxing long enough.

3- Blindness: it’s really a matter of opening our eyes and we would see. Ask the parent who sends their child to find something and they come back empty handed. It was easier not to look rather than search. Open them eyes!

4- Unpreparedness: it is very unfortunate that many of us pray for things almost daily. Many folks even beg God for things and then when they come we say “I don’t know” because of lack of preparation. Today, become determined in your mind to prepare for the arrival of what you have prayer and believed for. It’s sure to come for the believer.

5- Dishonesty: we must be careful not to become people that live in a dishonest place in our hearts, attitude and most of all speech. Growing up I learned, the more you do something, the easier it becomes to continue doing it. When we are not honest with ourselves and have run out of excuses we readily respond to others with the all-time favorite line “I don’t know”. The truth is that We Know, but have fell into the trap of the 4 things previously mentioned and are not honest enough to face it. No more excuses!

Let today begin another New Day for you by removing “I don’t know” from your vocabulary. You are a precious resource that God will use in this end-time. In order for you to be most effective and the best you, you must “KNOW”. Do the work, find out and you will see the results.
